More than 600 truck drivers join Relay Payments' Driver Council

More than 600 truck drivers join Relay Payments' Driver Council dedicated to giving a voice to underserved community. Owner-operators and company drivers are thrilled they finally have a forum to be heard.

Relay Payments, the electronic payment network provider transforming transportation payments, will host its first Relay Driver Council meeting tomorrow, designed to harness the voice of American truck drivers.

“I’ve been driving for 30+ years, and this is the first time I feel I have a voice in the industry. Not once in my years of driving has anyone asked what I thought. This is an incredible initiative, and I’m honored to be a part of this important community,” said driver Mike Zweber out of Minnesota.

Relay, who strives to connect the logistics industry on a modern, instant and secure payment network, launched the community in September as part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and already has over 600+ members. The Driver Council is a forum to give members a voice and invites them to give feedback, share ideas, issues, and innovations with the goal of making their job easier.

Tomorrow’s virtual meeting will give members the chance to provide honest feedback to the marketing and product team around new product features and functionality.

“Day in and day out, our truck drivers are the ones on the roads moving goods across the country and weathering all challenges - they are the experts. Solving pain points based on feedback from the industry is at the core of what we do, and in the few months since partnering with drivers through the driver council, we’ve already learned so much,” said Relay CEO Ryan Droege.

Recently, the winner of Relay’s Driver Council new member giveaway, James Harris, spent a morning at Relay’s headquarters to collect a cabin pamper package containing items to improve his semi-truck cabin, including a portable fridge.  In sharing the challenges he faces over-the-road as an owner-operator, Harris revealed, “If Relay can solve the time-wasting problems I face when making deliveries, I'd be able to buy my own fleet.”
